Your journey begins early as we depart Kathmandu for Pokhara, a beautiful lakeside city nestled beneath the Annapurna range. The scenic drive by tourist bus takes you along river valleys, terraced fields, and charming hill towns. Upon arrival, you’ll check into your hotel near Phewa Lake and enjoy a leisurely evening in Pokhara.
We take a short morning drive to Kande, the starting point of your trek. From here, you’ll ascend gradually through terraced fields and rhododendron forests to reach Australian Camp, a serene ridge-top village offering panoramic views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Hiunchuli.
Today’s walk takes you off the beaten path into dense forests of oak, maple, and rhododendron. As you gain elevation steadily, the air becomes cooler and the ambiance more remote. You’ll arrive at Forest Camp (Kokar), a quiet stop surrounded by lush greenery.
The trail now rises sharply through alpine vegetation. The trees thin out as you approach High Camp, situated just below the ridge. On a clear day, you'll witness jaw-dropping views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna I, and surrounding peaks. The sunset over the Himalayas from this altitude is simply spectacular.
An early morning ascent brings you to the Upper Viewpoint or Mardi Himal Base Camp, the highest point of the trek. The effort is well rewarded with a close-up view of Machhapuchhre, Mardi Himal, and the Annapurna range. After spending ample time soaking in the vistas, you’ll descend back to Low Camp for overnight rest.
The trail descends steeply through lush forest and scattered settlements as you leave the alpine zone behind. You’ll pass through Siding village before reaching Landruk, a charming Gurung village known for its warm hospitality and views of Annapurna South.
Your final walking day leads you gently down the Modi Khola Valley to Syauli Bazaar, where your vehicle will be waiting. A scenic drive takes you back to Pokhara, where you can enjoy a relaxed afternoon by the lakeside or explore the vibrant streets.
After breakfast, we board the tourist bus for the return journey to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel. In the evening, join us for a farewell dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant to celebrate the successful completion of your trek.

Himalayan Magic Treks arranges comfortable stays that match each stage of your journey. In Kathmandu you will stay in well-rated three star hotels with private bathrooms and dependable amenities. On the trail we use local teahouses and lodges that offer basic but clean rooms. Lower elevations often provide better facilities, including attached bathrooms and hot showers. As you climb higher, expect simpler rooms with shared facilities, warm bedding, and friendly hospitality from local hosts.
Breakfast is included at your Kathmandu hotel. During the trek Himalayan Magic Treks provides three meals a day at teahouses. Menus feature local and familiar options such as rice, pasta, soups, dal, and steamed vegetables alongside regional dishes made from potatoes, buckwheat, and Tibetan breads. At higher camps the selection narrows, so we recommend packing energy snacks. Eating regular, carbohydrate-rich meals helps maintain strength and aids acclimatization on the Mardi Himal Trek.
Bring layered clothing, a warm sleeping liner, good trekking boots, a water bottle, basic first aid, sun protection, and a headlamp. A lightweight daypack and rain protection are must haves. If you plan to carry fewer items, porter support is available as part of many of our itineraries. For the 10 Days Mardi Himal Trek plan for cold nights and variable daytime temperatures.
We provide private transfers for airport arrivals, departures, and Pokhara sightseeing. Local road travel between villages uses reliable public buses or private vehicles depending on route conditions. Himalayan Magic Treks coordinates every transfer so your logistics run smoothly throughout the journey.
This trek typically requires 5 to 10 hours of walking some days with steady uphill sections. Prior cardio training and regular long walks will make the experience more enjoyable. Listen to your guide, stay hydrated, and allow time for acclimatization to reduce the risk of altitude illness. Our guides are trained to monitor health and to act quickly if symptoms appear while on the Mardi Himal trekking package.
